The short story...

During the WMA contest in April 2010 I've met Mihail Santaro in Ulaanbaatar and we've found some common interests - especially Mongolian music. My name is Andreas Goretzky and I was one of the competitors on that festival, the only from Germany, I represented the German flag. We talked very much, later, in 4 differnet languages we could speak, and staid into contact. Although I've got my first morin huur in 2009 I proved that it's never too late to learn, but without a good teacher it is much more difficult and will study that instrument for one year between November 2011 and October 2012

After that WMA contest we have met again in Paris, and I took my very first Morin Huur lessons from his youngest daughter Bouzhigmaa. She follows his father's steps and studies ethnomusicology. After these days in May 2011 Mihail and I talked very much, later we've made the plan to set up a new web page and a small shop for buying the books he has published and study material.

I followed a differrent way of life, I'm IT architect for datacenter planning and operations, and I supply also software architecture details for integrating software into Terminal and Citrix server environments. That's the summit in my professional career, but the same company agreed to let me go for one year - not to climb the Mount Everest, but for studying Mongolian Music. Thousands climbed that hill, but only few, maybe one or two dozenĀ  foreigners, followed the other way, the mongolian music.
